Well maintained and equipped, this classic Captiva cottage style house, on the beach side of the Captiva village center area sleeps 6

Experience the laid back, easy Captiva Island lifestyle with this classic 2 bedroom, 2 full bath cottage with no stairs to deal with. This is an extremely easy home to entertain children.

Its private, secluded, 26 x 14 ft heated and newly re-surfaced pool with paver stone deck is just off the double French doors of the living room. The Mermaid Home may be called a cottage, but this house is as well updated and equipped as a new luxury home.  

Included is a 42' HDTV, a 6 disc CD player with large music selection, Bluetooth adapter to our 100 watt Onkyo receiver, and Bose inside and Yamaha outside pool speakers. Wireless Internet is in place. 

The master bedroom has a King bed with HDTV and i-Pod dock and a master bath with step down shower large enough for two and is equipped with 2 shower heads. The guest bedroom is twin equipped and has an HDTV with DVD and i-Pod dock. The living room provides a very comfortable Italian leather queen size sleeper sofa, The hall way full bath services the guest room and living room guests.

The kitchen is fully equipped with Ice making refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffee and espresso machines and all utensils. A Weber gas grill is outside the kitchen and pool area. A washer and dryer is provided in the adjacent laundry room. 

The adjacent open dining area has a table for 4 and stools at the kitchen bar for 2 more.

Naturally, all linens are provided and you'll find everything in perfect, move-in condition. Beach towels, lounge chairs, and umbrellas are provided for the beach. Our pool lanai is totally furnished and a Weber gas grill is ready for a cookout. We supply a large beach cart with balloon tires to haul the beach equipment to the beach.

Bicycles can be rented nearby at YOLO Rentals, a 5 minute walk from the house. Bikes for younger children or trailers for our bikes can also be rented, as well as mopeds, golf carts and much more.. 

The grounds are covered with many varieties of tropical flowering plants, the beach is a short two minute walk and the docks of the bay are even closer. Captiva's charming village center is a five minute walk. 

To further protect our guests, the A/C system is newly equipped with a hospital-grade, ozone-free system that kills virtually all virus particles. The REME HALO® whole home in-duct HVAC unit features high ionized hydro-peroxide output, which gives fast kill rates for microbial contaminants in the air as well as on surfaces. 

Personally maintained by the owners. This home is one of the very few Captiva rental houses not managed by a management company. We personally supervise and assist our cleaning staff each Saturday. As the last to walk out the door prior to your arrival, we can assure you the Mermaid Home is one of the most immaculate and best prepared homes on Captiva, both inside and outside.
